This doc is going to document a few of my mid to long term Ideas around Matrix.

It would be nice to have a proper FOSS and sharable calendar on Matrix.

The idea is rather complex intentionally.
On one side, I imagine having a Widget usable in Element-Web or other Widget compliant clients.
On the mobile side, there should be native clients for it.

Additionally, it would be important for this to support import of iCal as well as having a way to sync this with Teams and Google Calendar. Especially their proprietary APIs. This is due to the fact that they seem to be a little better to use than the iCal.

On the native calendar side, this should store the data encrypted within Matrix. With that, it would be possible to also invite other people.

To do this, the Calendar should be able to spawn rooms like it's possible with Teams for meetings. This allows both for Meetings and documenting the calendar right within Matrix, and it can then for example be synced to Obsidian or other Note keeping apps.
